About Auren Institute, compliance training partner for UK and Malta employers

Compliance training partner for HR and L&D leaders at SMEs and mid-market employers in the UK and Malta. Eleven compliance domains. Three levels in each. UK and Maltese variants where the law differs. Updated within 30 days of legislative change.
Who Are We

Compliance, Done Right.

Auren Institute is a compliance training partner for HR and L&D leaders at small and mid-sized employers in the UK and Malta. We help organisations turn compliance training from a box-ticking exercise into something they can rely on when the law moves.

Most compliance training fails the same test. It teaches abstract categories instead of named regulations, updates on annual cycles if at all, and is built for the compliance officer when the obligation actually sits across the whole workforce. When the regulator asks what training your team received, “we did the GDPR module” is not the answer that protects you. Auren Institute closes that gap for SMEs that have outgrown self-serve platforms but are too lean for six-figure consultancies. Smaller teams and individual learners can access the same compliance courses self-serve through the Auren Course Catalogue.

The Institute covers eleven compliance domains: GDPR, AML and KYC, Health and Safety, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, DEI, Cybersecurity, Whistleblowing, ESG, Employment Law, AI in the Workplace, and Internal Compliance Audit. Each domain runs on a Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced ladder so one library serves new joiners, line managers, and senior leadership in a single procurement decision.

Every course is written against named legislation and revised within 30 days when the law changes, with version dates published openly. Auren Institute is a CPD-registered provider (number 22536) with offices in Glasgow and Qormi, giving the company a genuine dual UK and Malta presence rather than a single-jurisdiction view bolted onto another market.

Co-founded by Stefan Gauci Scicluna, Auren Institute combines expertise in compliance, curriculum design, digital learning, and adult education with practitioner experience across property, higher education, and regulated investment, written into every course rather than added after the fact.

  • Structured e-learning programmes for onboarding, upskilling, wellbeing, and continuous professional development
  • Flexible, scalable learning solutions suitable for teams of all sizes and distributed workforces
  • Professionally designed courses built on sound instructional design and adult learning principles
  • Easy-to-implement learning solutions that integrate smoothly into existing corporate training and HR systems
Our Team & Delivery Model

Auren Institute runs a small core team of compliance, instructional design, and digital learning specialists, supported by a vetted bench of subject matter experts based in the UK and Malta. Every external contributor is reviewed for sector experience, professional credentials, and ability to translate regulation into practical learning outcomes before being commissioned.

The team includes:

• Instructional designers trained in adult learning and workplace education
• Subject matter experts with named regulatory experience in each of our eleven domains
• E-learning developers building courses on industry-standard platforms compatible with SCORM and xAPI
• Facilitators with delivery experience across UK and Maltese workplaces

We do not subcontract to anonymous content farms or generic e-learning libraries. Every course we publish is attributable to a named author and reviewer, with version dates and update history visible to clients.

What We Deliver

Our courses are designed for asynchronous e-learning and blended delivery, built around three primary use cases:

  • Compliance training: jurisdiction-specific courses across the eleven domains, delivered through our platform with full SCORM compatibility for clients running their own LMS.
  • Onboarding and upskilling: structured programmes that combine compliance modules with role-specific learning paths for new joiners, managers, and senior leadership.
  • Custom development: bespoke compliance programmes for clients with sector-specific regulatory exposure or in-house policy requirements.

The corporate compliance library is sized for teams of 80 to 250 employees, with engagements scoped above 250 on a custom basis. Smaller teams and individual learners are served by the self-serve Auren Course Catalogue. Every programme integrates with existing HR and learning systems and is built to adapt as the regulatory environment changes.

Our Approach

What sets Auren Institute apart is not catalogue size or production volume. It is three things.

Specificity. Every course is built around named legislation in UK or Maltese law, not generic compliance categories. We name the regulator, the regulation, and the duty.

Currency. Content is reviewed against legal change continuously and updated within 30 days of any material amendment. Version dates are published openly so clients can prove currency to their own auditors.

Practitioner voice.
Our courses are written by people who have had to comply, not just teach. The result is training your workforce can apply, not just complete.
